With Lessons about Kindness and STEM subjects, who knows
Sesame Street in 1969
Mr. Rogers on the Other
And rulieo, drulio
new ones are their brothers

-From Educational Television by Madeline Fretz

LA times published a study in 2011 pinning problems on SpongeBob SquarePants. Eryn Brown, author of the study, found other problems on children watching fast-paced cartoons. So what shows should children watch? Here are 19 shows that your kids will love. Not only are they extra-gentle and educational, they won't make you fall asleep, sorry Barney.

19. Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood
Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is a spinoff of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. "You've gotta try a new food cause it might taste good", Daniel Tiger is in preschool and learns a lot every day. This show may be goody-goody now and then, who knows?

18. Baby Einstein
I've said it once and I'll say it again, watching Baby Einstein is like staring at a lava lamp, its videos are gentle. Each DVD focuses on a simple lesson like learning shapes, numbers, and colors. But honestly, I showed it to some little kids yesterday,

17. Dinosaur Train
Seriously, The premise of Dinosaur Train makes no sense at all. They have a talking family of Dinosaurs who travel through time and discover new Dinosaurs. Although it's less sassy then Nick's Dino Dan!

16. Zoom
Zoom, as I put it, an ADORBS show about child hosts. Each episode focuses on the ZOOMers, teenage kids, who set off each day to learn about something new. So far I've been singing their theme song "C'mon and ZOOMa ZOOMa ZOOMa ZOOM". And they also sing about Box 350 Bostom Mass 02134 "Send it to ZOOM!"

15. Wallykazaam
Meet Wally Trollman and Norville, Wally has a stick which can make new words. The stories are fun and the reading lessons are affective. Yes, please!

11. Curious George
Curious George is not so smart at all, but I'm unconvinent. I know, you know - George does things that we can't do.

10. Super Why
Super Why is about the power of reading! The characters go into books and find letters to make words. The show is good - you can fall in love with it. Sometimes he claps because he thinks they are really interacting with him.

9. FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman
Fetch helps kids develop science and math skills. It ran from 2006 til 2010 on PBS.

8. Thomas & Friends
I think I can productions (that's the original name for Baby Einstein). I love Thomas the Tank Engine.  I also like the Simpsons (seriously, your kids should not be watching the Simpsons, we all know that). It's entertaining and fun for the kids. OH, YEAH!!!

Yo Gabba Gabba is a show that has been around for such a long time for such a good reason. It's yet another Oldy, but Goody! I remember having to get up early so I could watch Yo Gabba Gabba on TV. The show teaches kids about being nice to friends while teaching them good things.

6. Teletubbies
This show ran from 1997 to 2001 on BBC, and returned in 2015 on Nick Jr.. It is about 4 cute Teletubbies characters who have TVs in their bellies and watch real kids' stories. It will be a hit with your kids, I'm sure of it.

Ah, a timeless classic. This curious little dog taught so many good things to kids who grew up watching the show - learning, forgiveness, and problem solving to name a few.
